My Escondido - Historical People





					The Escondido Land and Town Company divided up the ranchos into small farms. Farmers raised grapes and citrus. The company built the first hotel, school, college, and bank. They also brought the first train to Escondido from Oceanside.



			Wolfskill Ranch became the headquarters for the Escondido Land and Town Company until the townsite was developed. It later became a farm.
